dgoHn unleashes a follow up to the ‘All The Fuckin’ As’ single earlier in the year with 2 seismic tracks that cut straight to the core of the drum and bass spirit in the freshest way possible, backed up by an apocalyptic remix from the lord of Dunstable, Jodey Kendrick. This record once again demonstrates dgoHn’s precision execution of beautifully illustrated drum patterns and formidable flow control. Each track rolls floating above gut trembling sub-weight designed to move the sound-system skankers as shifting atmospheres guide the vibe and brain tingling arrangements ricochet around inside the skull.
Whilst the title track ‘Ralph’ utilises a haunting melodic theme to set a claustrophobic tone for some of dgoHn’s most impeccable programming to date, ‘Drumk’ skilfully connects the dots between jazz, jungle and dub, conducting the drum kit to dance organically around the central bass rhythm with flair. Jodey Kendrick, who’s rich and varied releases have in recent years found homes on WéMè Records, Rewind Records and Electric Dance Music, mangles the haunting vibe of ‘Ralph’ into one of pure evil with his remix. Simultaneously cavernous and stifling as it moves through dreamlike states, before landing like a comet directly on the darkside. This 12" contains some of the crispest drum murderation going.
The release comes fronted with wonderful art by snublic.com
The kinda quality you can assume from an RWD release - complex melodies, just-enough layering to build into a well crafted mish-mash of impeccable interjoining parts. Recently a friend asked for a list of everything I've been listening to recently - 9/10 of the albums/EPs were by this guy. Absolutely crackin' stuff! dharkoshan
On this album I feel like Aaron shares his emotions & thoughts directly. I feel like he is sharing his experiences here in a way I can relate to. Sometimes I feel like he understands my experiences better than I do. And that's saying a lot. goingincognito
